Today I was doing some cleaning and found one of my old scrap books. At the very end of it is a picture of Jason and I when we started dating. Well Makayla looks at me and as serious as can be goes "That is when you fell in love. You fell in love with Dad right mom? I think you looked all over the world to find the perfect daddy for me and Kaden. That is why you married Dad right mom? I think you fell in love every time you saw him." It took everything in me not to laugh right then and there. I just simply said "You are so right!". She skipped off down the hall all proud that she had figured out everything she needed to know about falling in love....................as I am sitting here typing she just put a piece of paper in front of me that says this- IT IS JEST NOOT THE SAM TO BE IN LOV WITH ECH OTHR Hooked on Phonics worked for her!

Frugal Friday!

Since the economy right now is so crazy I wanted to start a string of posts every Friday called Frugal Friday. I am all about saving money so this is a chance for everyone to share ideas. Each Friday I will post some idea and if anyone has any comments or new ideas let me know!!! I am all about sharing ideas so you might see a few days a week filled with things like this. All in all, you can tell I have too much time on my hands but I am having fun with this so back off ;)

So I have just discovered Kid to Kid again. I am sure this is nothing new to most of you but I was really having a difficult time wanting to spend 100's of dollars on summer clothes for my kids. They just spill stuff on them and stain them! So we took a bunch of old clothes to Kid to Kid the other day and they gave us $70 in store credit. Now I wasn't really sure if I wanted to just take the money or not so I decided to look around. They have spots in the store that house certain brands and I found myself at the gymboree area finding a bunch of really cute stuff for Makayla. Needless to say I found a lot of stuff for my $70. I am so glad I looked. I thought for sure that the clothes would be worn and out of style but most of everything I purchased I'm sure had not been worn more than once. I purchased 6 outfits for Makayla. I saved $100's of dollars! Now when she comes home with stains and tears in her clothes I don't get sick to my stomach. It also leaves money for nicer clothing. So i am all about Kid to Kid right now! I sure those that shop there can agree. Any other ideas on how to strech your dollar for play clothes?

I just wanted to express how much I love my husband. We have been through so much together and I love him more each and every day. He is so many things! He is a father, a best friends, a husband, a hard worker, smart..........I could go on and on and on. Thank you Jason for always being there for me. For helping out when I need help. For taking care of the kids and working all those side jobs so that the kids have all the fun things they want. Thank you for always putting our family first. We could not do it with out you. I know I am being mussy but today I am greatful for the father of our home. I LOVE YOU! HAPPY FATHERS DAY! Here is to more and more to come. I can't wait to see what you are capable of next.

Crack KILLS!

I was checking out Devin's facebook and noticed this picture in his photo album....................I could not help but giggle. This was at least 2 years ago but the picture is CLASSIC!!! She is going to hate me for this when she is older. I think this will be a great blackmail picture when she is a teenager! So the moral to this story is DON'T DO CRACK!

Saturday Fun!

Makayla went to the movie with Grandpa Ashby so Kaden and I spent the day playing hide and seek. He would run into his room, I would find a new place to hide and then I would jump out and scare him. He would scream and run away giggling. It was so much fun to spend the afternoon with him. Makayla came home all happy and so the rest of the evening was so nice. Makayla and I even had a few fun moments playing a game on the computer together.

Kaden and his Uncles

This is my cute brother Devin and my handsome little boy Kaden. Kaden was only 5 1/2 months old when Devin left on his mission. He has grown so much since then and he really does remember his uncle. He just loves to play with his uncles. He will scream for Sean (comes out really loud "SEANY") and go running for a hug from Devin. My oldest brother has two dogs and he looks forward to seeing them every day when he goes to Grandmas. Grandma and I don't always love it because the Uncles always get him all wound up but Kaden this that they are just the best in the world.

I love my family!

This week has been an emotional one! We said good bye to Matt one more time and we were able see Devin and Brandon again. It was really cool because Tuesday we were able to be together as a family with Matt, Cassie and all the other Wagstaff clan. It has been a while since we were able to be together. We had dinner at Outback Steakhouse and we had a blast. The kids were wiped out and didn't eat very well. As for goodbye.............it was hard. I really look up to Matt. He is a great guy and I don't know how he stays so positive.

Devin came home from his mission on Wednesday. It was so great to see his face again! He has really grown up. I just broke down and started crying. He isn't my baby brother anymore! He really has grown more than I thought. I just couldn't believe that this stage in his life is over and who knows he could be married next. CRAZY!!!!

Brandon came home from California and he cooked dinner for the family tonight. He is such an awesome person. With all the things he has overcome in life he really has such a great personality and I am so glad that he is home. For the first time in nearly 4 years the entire Ashby family was back together. It was really sureal for me. I expected to wake up at any moment. I really love my family!!! It is crazy how much I look to each person on both sides of my family for support. Each person brings something totally different. Today I am overwhelmed with love for my family!

Uncle Matt!

This is an older picture of Matt and Kaden but I just had to express how lucky we were to see matt this month. He has been on tour in Afganastan for a while now and he was able to go on leave for a few days to spend time with the family. It was so nice to see him. We truly miss him and the kids love him so much. He has such a way with them. Kaden just has loved him from day one. We are so lucky to have such an awesome brother, brother inlaw and uncle! COME HOME SOON MATT!!!
